We have the goal in Oberbuchsiten and environment interested with PC by Wireless LAN to connect. Likewise the InterNet entrance is possible over the WLAN by ADSL connection. Like that also an entrance to broadband InterNet is with telephone connections across overhead line is led possible. (ADSL over overhead line becomes at present. for any reasons with Swisscom does not install)
On 3 July 02 the first subnetwork was installed. It consists of a Wireless ACCESS POINT as well as 3 Client's. For all Nodes Linksys WAP 11 ACCESS Point's were used.
The net is not yet public for the moment. The wireless connections are scrambled(~). Further interested ones must become first member in the association, before they can be attached. A release is possible with interest and can be realized medium-term.
Importantly: The WLAN used with us is operated in license and permission-free ISM volume (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) and is standardized after IEEE 803.11b. The devices radiate an output of 100 mW (milli Watts) off (see guidance page 57, 20dBm = 100mW) . This is 20 times less than a GSM Handy (2 Watts), which practice-light-proves however in head proximity is operated. The maximum transmitting power of WLAN arises only during maximum extent of utilization of the cell. An impairment of the health was not ever proven with this small achievement.
